Front 2004

The delegate of major festivals, Gonzalo Crespo, presented today 26 November the model of the cover of the April Fair 2004, This year is based on the facade of the Palace of San Telmo.

The draft next year Home was inspired by one of the most representative buildings of Sevillian Baroque, initially linked since its construction in 1682 Navigational de Indias (University of Merchants). The building is rectangular with four corner towers that served as the inspiration for the design of the side bulwarks of closing the cover of this monumental leap year.

Notably this building's main entrance access, designed by the architect Leonardo de Figueroa and concluded in 1734 by his son Antonio Matias de Figueroa. Developed in three bodies, the first is composed of columns on the balcony that configures the second body lies. Surrounding the balcony supported by Indian-like moods and sea monsters, allegorical figures of Sciences and Arts-related studies nautical. Tops set a renovated attic between 1775 and 1796 appearing in, center, San Telmo and, on the sides, San Fernando and San Hermenegildo. The second and third body of the monumental gate has served as inspiration for the design of the central arch of the Home Fair.

As a link between the central arch and side bulwarks, used a canvas façade cladding which have been practiced, as are customary, two separate pedestrian whose ornamentation and bulging steps are inspired by elements of the north facade of the building.
