Seville City Hall commemorates the 50 anniversary of the transfer of the April Fair to Los Remedios with a special show for the night of Lighting, exhibitions and concerts.

Opening Gala of the Fair 2023

Seville City Council, through the Government Area, Major Festivals and Metropolitan Area, will commemorate the 50 anniversary of the transfer of the April Fair to Los Remedios from the Prado de Sebastián with a show that has been designed for the night of the Alumbrado and that, for the first time, It will be held in gala format with video projection. The gala will have a journey through time as its common thread and will feature leading figures from the Sevillanas.

A) Yes, the gala, which will be presented by Pepe Da Rosa and Ana Carvajal, will begin at 22.45. Through a series of videos that have told with the collaboration of bailaor Pepe Galván and that will be projected on a big screen, there will be a time travel, from the fair 1973, year in which the transfer occurred, up to the present.

The gala will take place in several blocks after which, the public will be able to enjoy the performances by artists such as Laura Gallego —with the collaboration of the Municipal Symphonic Band of Seville and Pepe Galván—, Always like that, Enrique Casellas, María del Mar Berlanga and her dance group and the Singers of Híspalis. Also, this last group will prolong its performance once the Lighting button has been switched on.

It should be remembered that, on the occasion of the commemoration of this anniversary, the protagonists of the moment of the lighting of the April Fair will be residents and merchants of the Los Remedios neighborhood this year, who will press the lighting button at 00.00 Sunday hours 23 April.

Tribute concert to Singers of Híspalis in San Pablo

The Friday 14 April the concert 'Eternos Cantores' will be held, in tribute to singers of Híspalis, in the Plaza Cantores de Híspalis in the Polígono San Pablo, located between Picadores streets, Pedro Romero and Puntilleros. At 20:30 hours.

Concert of the Municipal Symphonic Band of Seville

The Municipal Symphonic Band of Seville will offer a recital with classic pieces by Manuel de Falla and D Hurtado that will be choreographed by the Alberto El Romero Dance School. The group will also accompany the classic sevillanas performed by Amigos de Gines, Mary Hill, manguara, Cintia Merino, the Carlotas, We are South, Lubricán and Las Soles. Exhibition of mupis in Asunción street

The 14 to the 22 April Historical photographs of the April Fair will be exhibited in the section of Asunción street that goes from the Pasaje Virgen de Consolación to Virgen de la Victoria street.

Gallardetes on Asunción street and on Avenida de la Constitución

Asunción street will wear pennants on its sides to decorate the path to the fairgrounds, from 17 April. The Association of Merchants of Los Remedios has produced banners with the letters of Sevillanas that have always been hung on the balconies of the streets.

There will also be pennants announcing the Fair on Avenida de la Constitución.

Exhibition of covers of the Fair

Some twenty shops in Los Remedios will exhibit the most representative models of the covers of the April Fair in recent years. 50 years, such as those that represented the facade of the Church of El Salvador (year 2012), the one with the fans (2005) or the one that honored the Expo 92 (2017).
